EPIC Solutions provides interactive, hands-on workshops which cater to your specific needs as a high school student and prospective college attendee. We will cover everything from test anxiety and managing stress, to obtaining internships and career planning. Consultations are complimentary, work shop fees may apply.
Nuts and Bolts tackle the fundamental process of going to college. Students will understand the core ideas of getting a quality education.
Most colleges require students to submit an essay or personal response as part of the application process. It may sound like a chore, but it's actually a unique opportunity. For it requires students to reflect on their individual strengths, and to distinguish themselves from other applicants with comparable scores and grades. After completing our Essay Writing Workshop, you will walk away with two (that's right, two!) complete college essays—and your Common Application essay.
Step-by-step students will learn what it takes to get on the right path towards the college process. High School profiles will be developed to move into the next dimension in the process.
This interactive workshop explores scholarship opportunities for funding specific to the student’s needs. Money is out there but do you know how to find it the easy way?
“Which school is the right one for me?” This is a question that every student should ask when thinking about college. HBCU and PWI are two major schools to which male students apply. This workshop will teach you the difference between the two and also the pros and cons of each.
Adopted from the PRAXIS Series, this simulation expands your thinking about test-taking. Fundamental tips will be revealed to help improve your test-taking strategies before beginning your formal assessments.
Do I qualify? Qualify means that we meet the standards. What are the standards for NCAA? This involves learning about the qualifications necessary to participate in university athletics. The NCAA outlines the necessary standards to qualify for college athletics.
Selecting a college is among the most important decisions of your life. This decision can affect your college success, your career direction and your college costs. A well-designed college plan will include the “Six Steps...” which will help give you and your family the confidence to find your ‘best fit’ in college. The six steps are interrelated and sequential.
Applying for college can be a scary process. EPIC Solutions is committed to guiding you through a variety of processes: applying, writing, and being accepted into your preferred institution. This process will therefore lead to choices and not options.
Every student needs money for college. “How do I pay for it?” will give you tips on financing your respective institution. You'll learn where to find the funds and how to apply for grants and scholarships. You'll also learn how FAFSA works and managing deferred and personal loans. These sessions are also available to parents and guardians.
This session is geared towards helping parents find the most effective financial plans so as to get the most bang for your buck!
“How do I learn?”, “What is a learning disability?”, “Can I still attend college?” Questions such as these will be answered as we learn about colleges that assist with learning disabilities.
